Struggling to get Motivated? Exercising is all about finding your WHY
We get asked a lot: ‘How do you all stay motivated day in and day out?‘ The truth is we aren’t always motivated! But if you were privy to the Bodyfix Staffroom Banter at 5.45 am, you would learn we are just like you. When we wake up, we don’t always feel like working out, going to work or doing anything actually! So you see – lacking motivation is entirely normal!
So how do we pull it together? Having good support is a biggie and is one of the best ways to stay motivated!
This support could be through:
- Coming to a class. (View our timetable/book a class.)
- Catch up with a Personal Trainer regularly.
- Meeting a friend that you can workout with
-
Finding a supportive environment. We are here for you! Meet our team
Sometimes it’s less about being motivated and more about making an appointment with yourself.
Have a goal in mind to focus on:

- Adding a minute to your cardio
- An extra ten reps to your weights session
- Attending an extra class
- Or having a good stretch and focusing on your flexibility
So know you are not alone if you feel like hanging out in your PJs all day. We feel that too. But please know we are all here to support you!
We asked the team up to share their reasons for exercising. Maybe you will find some that resonate with you?
I exercise because…
I want to be the best possible version of myself.
I want to increase my confidence.
I want to feel good & keep healthy.
Going to the gym—or just exercising in general—is good for the immune system, can lower stress at a time when many are experiencing higher than normal levels of stress, isolation, and anxiety, and can provide a much-needed dose of social support and camaraderie.
It’s all I’ve known since competing in athletics at 5 years old. From there, my addiction grew, and I haven’t been able to go to sleep unless I have done some form of cardio. Exercise has introduced me to the best friends and experiences that never stop happening! In addition, the practice has helped me keep on top of Rheumatoid Arthritis. It is 100% better through high-intensity training, which increases blood flow. The day exercise doesn’t feature in my day is when I’m on fire turning into ash.
I want to keep up with the kids.
I want to be able to live independently (esp when I get old and grey).
I want to not be in pain.
I want to catch up with my friends.
I want to have fun.
Exercise helps clear my mind & spark creativity.
Exercise is the most underutilized happy drug there is.. 100% enjoy pushing the body.
I want to age gracefully, and prevention is better than cure.
I love feeling strong, having energy, and it helps me sleep. It also helps my mental health!
Simply because I enjoy it, and I feel so much better after.
