How to make exercising the best part of your day and build a weekly workout routine like a boss!

So I got asked the other day when a member walked into the gym Q. “How on earth do you lot look forward to exercising every day? Like how do people do it? How do I even get to that point?” Great question and we get asked it a lot so I thought I would turn it into a little blog for y’all. 🙂

1. Find a fitness buddy

Thinking about it more we all have that friend or those friends who would rather take to the gym than a glass of wine and after a long day and we say there is nothing wrong with that, nothing at all 🙂 The friends who take to the wine will roll there eyes but what you need to understand is that our brains understand that exercise makes us feel good, causing us to enjoy doing it & do regularly and this is our go to it in times of stress.

2. Keep anxiety at bay

regular exercise helps reduce anxiety and make us feel content & satisfied. And more often than not we have said many a time that exercise can act as an antidepressant. Working in the Fitness Industry for most of us over 20 odd years we will all put our hands up and say YES!

3. Build the habit – workout on autopilot

When it comes to habit, it really is just simply showing up day after day even as tired as we might feel realyl is a real sense of achievement.

4. Make it fun

We make it fun, not only physically but also socially by hanging out with friends who are also working out. There is loads of banter and craziness in our Club but we say focus on the positive feelings you experience while you are working out—and what it does for your mood and energy!

5. Build consistency

Thenhere is the key and this can be a little hard we know as our lives are so busy – being consistent. Try with one specific time of day that you can exercise. Find a time that works for you, be it morning, noon, or night and try to be consistent with that time and stickit into your diary!!

6. Get invested

Paying for a gym membership is a way to make you accountable every month, sometimes it takes investing in your health to build consistency and keep you accountable to your health goals.

7. Take some “me” time and be a great role model

For those of us with families it is a bloody juggle and hey our team are no different from any of you out there. We are all dealing with kids/work and all the stresses of just being a working parent these days – but the benefits of how good it will make you feel should be what you need to remember. And not forgetting Monkey See Monkey Doo – it is good for our kids to see us exercising.
